Frequently Asked Questions

Immersive Event FAQ

Immersive FAQ

Q: What is an "immersive event"?

An immersive event is more than just a party or spectacle - it's a story that you fully immerse yourself in. You'll interact with characters, explore the setting, and have the ability to influence what is happening around you. It's a blend of theater, play and discovery.

Q: Do I have to participate, or can I just observe?

You can engage as much or as little as you like. Some people love diving into roles, either given or invented, while others prefer to soak in the atmosphere as a fly on the wall. There is no wrong way to experience one of our events.

Q: How big are your immersive events?

We offer intimate experiences for small groups as well as large-scale productions for up to and sometimes more than 100 people. It all depends on the venue and what kind of story and experience we are trying to supply. Each of our events are unique, meaning you'll never have the same experience more than once.

Q: Are costumes required?

While we usually have a general dress code to keep everyone in the mood or theme of an event, and costumes are encouraged, they absolutely are not required. We'll give styling tips and even mood boards for each of our events so you can join our worlds and stories in whatever way feels right for you.

Q: Can children attend your events?

At the moment all public events by West Coast Interactive LLC are for adults aged 21+. We may offer family- freindly events in the future, but most of our events are for drinking-age adults to experience as a great date night or adventure with friends.

Private Event FAQ

Private Event FAQ

Q: Can you create an event around a specific theme or fandom?

Absolutely! We love building unique experiences, whether it's a vintage speakeasy, a fairy ball, or something inspired by your favorite movies, tv shows, or books.

Q: Do you handle everything, or do I need to provide some things?

We offer flexible packages. We can provide everything from story and performers to décor and light catering coordination. Or we can simply enhance the party that you're already planning. Feel free to contact us and we can see what is right for you!

Q: How long do your private events typically last?

Most private events run 2-4 hours depending on the format. We'll work with you to tailor the duration to your space and your guests.

Q: Can kids or families attend?

Yes! We can design experiences that are kid-friendly, all ages, or strictly adults only depending on your audience.

Q: How much does a private event cost?

Pricing depends on the scope of your event, the number of guests, and an add-ons like performers, props, or custom content. After a brief consultation, we'll provide a clear, customized quote.

Q: How far in advance should I book?

We recommend booking at least 4-6 weeks in advance to allow time for planning and customization, though last-minute events may be possible depending on our schedule.

Q: Do you travel for events?

Yes! We're based around Prescott/Prescott Valley/Chino Valley in Arizona, but we are happy to travel for events, especially for private or destination parties. Travel fees may apply depending on distance.

LARP FAQ

LARP FAQ

Q: What is a LARP?

LARP stands for Live Action Role Play. It's an interactive game where participants physically play out characters in a shared narrative world, often with costumes, props, and guided story arcs.

Q: Do I need experience to join a West Coast Interactive LARP?

Not at all! All of our LARPs are beginner friendly, and part of the goal of West Coast Interactive is to make Nordic style LARP more accessible to an American audience. We are the perfect place to experience your first LARP in a comfortable and inclusive environment.

Q: How is Nordic LARP different from traditional LARP in the USA?

Unlike many combat or rules driven LARPs, Nordic style LARP is usually mechanics light. This style of LARP often explores emotional, social or philosophical themes. Think of it more as interactive theater or collaborative improv than Table Top adventures. Players work together to create a meaningful story instead of competing to "win".

Q: Do I have to be a good actor to participate?

Not at all. Our LARPs are about honesty, presence and connection. It's more important that you stay true to your character and engage sincerely with the story than "act" in a theatrical sense.

Q: Are there safety tools in place for emotionally intense experiences?

Yes! We always include safety and calibration tools such as check-in systems, tap-outs, and briefing and debriefing. Your comfort and consent are always top priority.
